The Chhattisgarh Govt has denied use of BPL card issued during the year 2007-08 on the ground that the same has been issued for ration purpose but there is no such provision in Section 7(5) of the RTI Act, 2005. Therefore, we have sought to know about the 2 types of BPL cards issued by the State Govt i.e one called as statutory BPL Card which can be used for RTI purpose and the other discussed above.
