I write these lines not for me rather on behalf of my
friend. He is in fact not my friend. In these days we call every contact as a
friend in the face book style.
So, I express his thoughts. It was also my thought in my school
days. The Centre of the thought is that the faulty election system is root
cause of every problem in India and by its eradication our India will become
the previous India thousands years i.e. rich & strong, honest &
capable, so & so.
Next, as a practical step for implementing his school of
thought in improving election system is to give weightege to votes cast by educated persons in any
election. The question arises what should be value of the vote. He could not
express his ideas in yesterday’s Coffee House meeting. So, I proceed to help in
this article. Let us take the value of a labourer like rickshaw puller/auto
driver/road worker etc with an educational qualification upto HSC as 1 (in
figure one). Next from HSC to Intermediate it is 2 (two). For the graduates it
is 3. Doctors & Engineers have the vote value of a single vote as 4 (four).
It is the logic that if this system is introduced, the labourers will not get
advantage by selling their votes in exchange of liqiuor / cash distributed just
prior to the election day.
My simple question is “Is it possible?” In the coffee house meeting, a short statured
man roared with an effective voice “why not? Everything is possible. ” I casted
glance with fearful eyes towards the Indian Napolean and think myself about
poor framers of the Constitution of India. They, by their meticulous effort have
incorporated the lofty ideas of “equality & fraternity”. I realized my
limit of capability of influencing persons particularly my opponents and remembered
the proverb “speech is silver and silence golden”. Suddenly, I realize, how the
leaders of a big party are forced to remain silent in many occasions. This silence
is in spite of their will and even though they know that they are right and with
the full knowledge that the man sitting before him is howling like jackal with
all sorts of irrelevant points.
That’s why in good old days, the Great saints of India
& abroad went to caves for deep learning but the tragedy is that it is not
possible today.
Now, I want an image for this article, if we can call this
article. I think it will be India / the Constitution of India / the people of
India / election scene of India. Let me search the net, 1st download
& then upload here.
Good morning friends on 6th May, 2013.
